“Brain death,” or death by neurological criteria is a legal fiction that is refuted by sound medicine, philosophy, and theology. As I will substantiate in this paper and in the Linacre Quaterly, so called “brain death” or “death solely by neurological criteria” is a mere pretext for active euthanasia via organ harvesting.
