We are made for wholeness and community in spirit, mind, and body. As Catholics, our faith informs our lives and impacts our health. We should seek to integrate our spiritual life with our health and wellness. So what does that mean, and how do we accomplish it?
“We are called to flourish,” said Rebecca Wraith, CMF CURO Health Coach and Community Specialist. “Experience shows us that we cannot give what we do not have, which can often be a source of great frustration! So how do we address and transform this? How do we prepare ourselves and order our lives in a way that allows us to be able to give and love both ourselves and others as we desire? As Catholics, we know that we are an integration of body and soul. To flourish, we need to be mindful of both aspects, helping us become more fully the people God desires and created us to be.”
Catholic health coaching helps people gain the skills, tools and confidence needed to work toward and achieve goals. “Whether you want to work on stress management, fitness habits, nutrition habits, sleep, or another area, I am here to support you and encourage you along the way,” said Wraith.
Some health coaching neglects our spiritual dimension. CMF CURO’s Catholic Health Coaching incorporates prayer and our spiritual life. But the Catholic approach to health coaching is not spiritual direction, which also is available to CMF CURO members through their membership.
CMF CURO, a health care ministry that embraces our Catholic faith and offers Catholics an option for health sharing, has launched Catholic Health Coaching as a new, optional program included for its members. “It is a positive, uplifting opportunity to grow in holiness, where we will accompany you and empower you in your health and wellness goals based on a Catholic anthropology,” said Wraith.
