CMF Digital Conference on the Challenges Facing Religious Freedom in Health Care, & What We Can Do About It

“If we protect Conscience and Religious freedom in health care, we allow the culture of life to flourish…We allow a health care system to advance that affirms the dignity of the human person from conception to natural death”

On Wednesday, September 1st, the Christ Medicus Foundation hosted a digital conference highlighting the challenges currently facing religious freedom and conscience in health care, as well as signs of hope we see across the country. The event featured speakers from leading Pro-Life and Catholic health care organizations, including the Christ Medicus Foundation, Susan B. Anthony List and MyCatholicDoctor, and addressed issues ranging from the coercion of doctors to perform procedures they disagree with, to the Hyde and Weldon amendments, to answering the questions of “what exactly is Pro-Life, Catholic health care?” and “why should we have hope?”.

“If we protect Conscience and Religious freedom in health care, we allow the culture of life to flourish”, said Louis Brown, Christ Medicus Foundation Executive Director. “If we do this, we allow a health care system to advance that affirms the dignity of the human person from conception to natural death”.

Following presentations by individual panelists, the event concluded with an open conversation among panelists about Religious Freedom and Conscience, our responsibility to build up and support Catholic health care options like CMF CURO and MyCatholicDoctor, and vaccine mandates in light of Church teaching.
